Opening of the "Traditional Bulgarian Art" exhibition at the National High School for Applied Arts /NGPI/ "Trevnenska School"15 Май 2023 Новини
The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Office of the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Yury Sterk, opened an exhibition "Traditional Bulgarian Art" of the National High School for Applied Arts /NGPI/ "Trevnenska Shkola". The event took place on May 11, 2023 at the World Intellectual Property Organization /WIPO/ in Geneva on the occasion of the Day of St. St. Cyril and Methodius, Patrons of Europe, and within the framework of the Europe Day celebrations. The exhibition was organized with the assistance and support of the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Bulgaria in Geneva on the initiative of the Association for Bulgarian Education, Culture and Traditions "Dr. Stamen Grigorov", and its curator is the Bulgarian artist Miglena Savova-Auclair, who lives in Geneva.
The exhibition presents works by students from the National High School for Applied Arts "Trevnenska Shkola" in the three main courses of the high school – icon painting, wood carving and small furniture.
Guests at the event were WIPO Director General Mr. Darren Tang, Heads of diplomatic missions and other representatives of the diplomatic corps in Geneva, representatives of UN bodies and of other international organizations, and of the Bulgarian community in the city and nignbouring Swiss cantons. Ambassador Yuri Sterk, Mrs. Irena Stefanova, president of the association "Dr. Stamen Grigorov" and the director of the High school Mr. Orfey Mindov addressed the audience with welcoming words.
The exhibition will remain in Geneva until May 19, 2023.
