On 8 April 2022 the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Ms. Nikolina Kuneva was present at Imam Khomeini International Airport upon the delivery of a shipment, consisting of 2 830 400 COVID-19 vaccines, manufactured by the company AstraZeneca, a donation from Bulgaria to Iran.

Representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran were present at the airport from the Iranian side. They underlined the gratitude of the Iranian state for the donation. Ambassador Kuneva expressed the belief that during global pandemics the joint efforts and cooperation are the only way to overcome all challenges.
