On October 26, 2016 at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tehran Ambassador Christo Polendakov, Mr. Ivaylo Yordanov, Counselor, Head of the Consular Section, Mr. Tsvetan Aleksov, First Secretary and Head of the Trade and Economic Affairs Service and Mrs. Miglena Mateva, Assistant to the Consular Section met with the managers of the Iranian tourist agencies that have worked on the Bulgarian tourist market during the summer of 2016. The purpose of the meeting was to evaluate the results of the past season and to identify measures and approaches for the next 2017 tourist season.

In his remarks, Ambassador Polendakov expressed gratitude to the Iranian tour operators for their activity during the summer 2016, and stressed that the past season was unprecedented in number of visas issued /about 20 000/ on which base the Bulgarian Consular Service was ranked first among the EU member states in Tehran. Discussed were specific aspects of the work process with the aim to improve the efficiency and the quality of the services as well as new joint initiatives for widening the scope of activities. In conclusion both sides expressed intention to continue and consolidate the fruitful cooperation and their desire for an even more successful collaboration.
