След реакция на Посолството, бяхме уведомени от Министерството на външните работи и търговията на Нова Зеландия за следното решение на властите в страната:

We refer to the note dated 20 November 2020 regarding the validity period of Bulgarian identity cards and passports.

In relation to Bulgarian citizens who are trying to leave New Zealand to travel back to Bulgaria:

The Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment have distributed the correspondence to New Zealand Border staff, and will do what they can to facilitate outward travel. However they do need to advise that it is ultimately the airline that will make the decision whether to allow a Bulgarian national with an ‘expired’ passport to board, taking into account the position of any countries they are transiting through.

In relation to Bulgarian citizens currently in New Zealand who are applying for a new visa:

The Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment are currently exploring options in respect of visa applications where individuals are unable to renew their passports, as this is a wider issue affecting other countries too. In the meantime, the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment will advise their offices of the content of the correspondence and they will assess each application on a case by case basis. The Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment recommend that anyone submitting an application with an expired or expiring passport also submit a cover letter explaining the situation.

Вече сме поискали съгласието на съответните институции в Република България за разширяване на нашето заявление за признаване на личните документи до края на настоящата година, като след получаването му, отново ще се обърнем към новозеландските власти за съдействие.
