Bulgaria supports the priorities of the Portuguese Presidency

Bulgaria supports the priorities of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union to deliver a fair, green and digital recovery to Europe. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Petko Doykov emphasised this during a video conference with Portugal’s Secretary of State for European Affairs Ana Paula Zacarias. “It is indeed time to deliver,” he added, referring to the motto of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU that began on 1 January 2021.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva joined her colleagues of another 12 EU Member States in calling on the European Commission to facilitate the access to COVID-19 vaccines to the Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, after the Western Balkan countries were aided in this way.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva talked to her Croatian counterpart Gordan Grlic-Radman in connection with the devastating earthquake that rocked the Balkans at noon today. The quake was epicentred in the Croatian town of Petrinja, where people buried under the debris and significant damage to property are reported. Sadly, one victim, a child has already been confirmed as well.
