22 December 2020 News

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria Atanas Krastin presented his letters of credence to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov.

The presentation took place at a solemn ceremony at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Moscow, where Ambassador Krastin, together with another 11 foreign ambassadors resident in Moscow and accredited to the Republic of Uzbekistan, handed their credentials on 21 December 2020. Minister Kamilov arrived in the Russian capital expressly for the occasion. After the ceremony, he pointed out that the pandemic is leaving an imprint on the place and manner of presenting the letters of credence and that the ceremony is a new practice in diplomatic protocol.

The Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan said that his country attaches great importance to the promotion of bilateral relations with Bulgaria in all areas of cooperation and to the invigoration of the high-level political dialogue. He described the agreed consultations between the two countries’ ministries of foreign affairs as an important mechanism for achieving this objective. In a near future, after the situation normalises, it will become possible for the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Scientific and Technological Cooperation to hold its session, which will facilitate a broadening and deepening of relations between Uzbekistan and Bulgaria.
