Republic of Guatemala
The Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Guatemala established diplomatic relations in 1994 as a result of negotiations and signing of a joint declaration by the Permanent Representatives of the two countries to the UN in New York.
Traditionally, the Bulgarian Ambassador in Mexico is accredited to Guatemala and the Guatemalan Ambassador in Jerusalem is accredited to Bulgaria as well.
Since 2017 Mr. Veselin Simov has been appointed as Honorary Consul of Guatemala in Bulgaria with consular district the territory of the country.
Since 2020 Mr. Juan Pablo Carrasco de Groote has been appointed as Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Guatemala with consular district the territory of the country.
