The ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses deep indignation with the act of vandalism that desecrated the monument of the victims of the sinking of the Ilinden passenger ship in Ohrid. Such attitude to the memory of the Bulgarian tourists who died on 5 September 2009 is inadmissible.

Agreements on Approved Projects in Support of Bulgarian Community organisations Signed in Nis
Dimitar Tsanev, Consul General in Nis, on 25 November, 2020, signed agreements with the Bulgarian-Serbian Center in Vranje on approved proposed projects. These are connected with the decision of the Council of Ministers on the implementation of the Program in Support of the organisations of the Bulgarian Communities in Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, Ukraine, and Moldova and the nationals of the Republic of North Macedonia who Identify Themselves as Bulgarians.

Bulgarian Velina Todorova Reelected Member of UN Committee on the Rights of the Child for 2021-2025
The Bulgarian Velina Todorova was reelected member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child at the 18th conference of the states-parties to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child on November 24, 2020. She received the highest number of votes of all nine new members of the Committee for 2021-2025. Todorova received 149 votes, while the remaining right seats were distributed between the candidates of Japan (145), Belgium (143), Uruguay (128), Ethiopia (127), Georgia (125), Republic of South Africa (123), Butan (120) and Chad (113).

Georg Georgiev Participates in Online Meeting of Coordinators and Special Envoys in Combating Antisemitism
Deputy minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev, who is also National Coordinator for Combating Antisemitism, took part in the fourth meeting of the national coordinators and special envoys for combating antisemitism. The event was organized by the World Jewish Congress (WJC) and was held by video conference.
