Georg Georgiev Participates in Online Meeting of Coordinators and Special Envoys in Combating Antisemitism

Deputy minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev, who is also National Coordinator for Combating Antisemitism, took part in the fourth meeting of the national coordinators and special envoys for combating antisemitism. The event was organized by the World Jewish Congress (WJC) and was held by video conference.

WJC Executive Vice President Maram Stern, Katharina von Schnurbein, European Commission Coordinator on Combating Antisemitism, Miguel Moratinos, High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Daniel Holtgen, the newly appointed Special Representative of the Council of Europe on Antisemitic and Anti-Muslim Hatred and Hate Crimes, national coordinators and special envoys for combating antisemitism from 19 countries, as well as representatives of Jewish communities took part in the online discussion.

The participants discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to combating antisemitism, including measures for ensuring the security of the Jewish communities , for applying the working definition for antisemitism by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, for fighting online hate speech, monitoring and reporting information about hate crimes, links between cultures, and remembrance of the Holocaust.
