The Council of Ministers approved the candidacy of Nadezhda Neinski for Secretary General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation organisation for the period July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2024.
The Bulgarian nomination demonstrates the country’s consistent commitment to the Black Sea region, Bulgaria’s active role in the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, the development of cooperation with the EU, and Bulgaria’s successful fourth chairmanship of the organisation in the first half of 2019.
The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation was established in 1992. It has 13 states as its members: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the Republic of North Macedonia (from November 6, 2020).
