Bulgaria Ready to Aid Croatia in Connection with Devastating Earthquake

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva talked to her Croatian counterpart Gordan Grlic-Radman in connection with the devastating earthquake that rocked the Balkans at noon today. The quake was epicentred in the Croatian town of Petrinja, where people buried under the debris and significant damage to property are reported. Sadly, one victim, a child has already been confirmed as well.

“At this harrowing moment, Bulgaria is ready to stand beside our Croatian friends. We are ready to provide assistance. I extend my sincerest condolences and wish the injured speedy recovery,” Zaharieva said.

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Zagreb is at the disposal of all Bulgarian citizens in case they need assistance. The diplomatic mission, along with most buildings in the Croatian capital, is currently without power supply, but our staff are on standby and performing their duties.
