Georg Georgiev: Bulgarian Ship "Vezhen" Now Released
"It is with the greatest pleasure that I confirm the news that the Bulgarian ship 'Vezhen', which was detained, has now been released. At 12:00 local time, it received permission to sail. Today the Bulgarian citizens — members of the crew of the detained ship ‘Vezhen’ were visited by the Head of the Consular Service at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Kingdom of Sweden Stefan Stoykov. The consul met all 8 Bulgarians on board and had the opportunity to talk with them for three hours. They are in good health, good spirit and condition.

The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the USA has not received any reports of Bulgarian citizens who were on board the plane that crashed in Washington. According to US authorities, there are no confirmed casualties so far. Our diplomatic mission in Washington is monitoring the situation and the development of the investigation, and stands ready to provide the necessary assistance if needed.
