Minister Georg Georgiev Meets with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bulgaria

Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev received H.E. Mr Dong-bae Kim, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Bulgaria, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
During the meeting, the two sides underlined the traditional and friendly relations between Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea as a solid foundation for further developing and deepening bilateral dialogue, especially in light of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, celebrated this year. The discussion included a review of cooperation in areas of mutual interest and the prospects for strengthening bilateral dialogue in the fields of trade, energy, defence, tourism, education and cultural exchange, as well as people-to-people contacts.
Throughout the exchange, particular emphasis was placed on potential and ongoing bilateral projects in key strategic sectors, including energy, infrastructure, civil security, and others.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on issues of the international agenda and on the complex security challenges on the Korean Peninsula, including in the context of the war in Ukraine. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to the values of peace and to building a stable environment for sustainable development and growth through dialogue and diplomacy.
