On October 23, the Minister of Foreign Affairs received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China, Mrs. Dai Qingli.
During the meeting, the traditional and long-standing relations between Bulgaria and China and the results achieved in bilateral cooperation were highlighted. Minister Georgiev emphasized the pragmatic nature of the ties based on reciprocity and equality. The potential in the trade and economic sphere and the importance of taking concrete steps to balance bilateral trade by expanding Bulgarian exports in volume and scope, as well as improving the access of Bulgarian products and services to the Chinese market, were highlighted.
The opportunities for enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest were also discussed, with both sides at the meeting placed high importance on relations in the areas of education, culture and people-to-people exchanges, as those support mutual understanding and close relations.
