Minister Ivan Kondov talks to his Jordanian counterpart Dr. Ayman Al Safadi
On 18 May 2023, Minister Ivan Kondov held a telephone conversation with his Jordanian counterpart Dr. Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The conversation was held on the Jordanian initiative on the occasion of the appointment of Mr. Ivan Kondov to the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, with regard to the statement of the Prime Minister of North Macedonia before the Council of Europe, would like to underscore, that the expression of concern for the basic rights of a community of people cannot be used as a pretext to attack an EU member state with disingenuous and baseless accusations.

Deputy Minister Kodzhabashev participated in an event marking the 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Albania
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostadin Kodzhabashev participated in the solemn celebration of two significant anniversaries for the cooperation between Bulgaria and Albania — 110 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations and 30 years since the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Albania, which took place at the Sofia City Art Gallery. The Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Ms. Megi Fino, was also a guest of honour at the event.

Minister Ivan Kondov: Europe's strength lies in our unity and unification
The Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2018 has given a strong impetus to the European integration of the Western Balkan countries, but the enlargement policy should not be seen as an automatic means to tackle the political, economic and social challenges in the region. It can only offer transformative power by triggering large-scale democratic reforms in the best interests of citizens. This was underlined by Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov at the opening of today's international forum in Sofia ‘EU meets the Balkans’.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Kostadin Kodzhabashev today held talks with the Albanian Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Megi Fino at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Bulgaria and Albania will celebrate 110 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations and 30 years since the signing of the bilateral Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

Minister Ivan Kondov opened the exhibition ‘Fragments of modern art in Montenegro from the collection of the National Museum’.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov opened on 16 May 2023 the exhibition ‘Fragments of Modern Art in Montenegro from the Collection of the National Museum’. The exhibition is visiting Bulgaria for the first time on the initiative of the State Institute for Culture at the Minister of Foreign Affairs and with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Podgorica. Special guests at the opening ceremony were Danijela Đurović, spokesperson of the Parliament of Montenegro and the Director of the National Museum Jakša Ćalasan.

Meeting of Minister Ivan Kondov with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain Alejandro Polanco Mata
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov received today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Bulgaria Alejandro Polanco Mata. In the course of the talks, the traditionally good relations between both countries were highlighted and Minister Kondov congratulated the Spanish side on its upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2023 and expressed confidence in its success.

Bulgaria participates in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) ZODIAC project through the National Development Programme managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Bulgaria is contributing financially to the landmark IAEA Zoonotic Disease Integrated Action (ZODIAC) initiative, designed to support the fight against diseases transmitted from animals to humans through molecular technologies, through the National Development Assistance Programme managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
