‘NATO: Because We Are Stronger Together’ will be the motto of the National Programme of Initiatives to mark the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's NATO accession
At a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel awarded the finalists in the competition for students for the motto of the National Programme of Initiatives for the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's NATO accession in 2024.
The winning slogan is ‘NATO: Because we are stronger together’ by Mariya Nikolaeva from Sofia. Among the winners were Olga Dincheva from Stara Zagora with her motto ‘United for security, strong in cooperation’ and Ivanina Dimitrova from Varna with the motto ‘Strength in unity’.
‘NATO is a community of values and principles. Only with united efforts, sharing good practices and highlighting Bulgaria's contribution to NATO can we be stronger. I would like to thank the finalists and all the participants in the competition for their courage to present and defend their ideas and to send the message that Bulgaria and NATO are stronger together’, Mariya Gabriel said.
Students from all over the country took part in the competition and their proposals were reviewed and evaluated by an expert committee of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence.
‘It is important that the messages of the young reach more people because through the eyes of the new generation we see what Bulgaria — a NATO member means to them and how to be stronger in today's world of challenges. The winners of the competition are an example of how we pass values between generations, but also how the younger generation gives hope and strength for the future’, Mariya Gabriel concluded.
The motto will be part of the branding of the National Programme of Initiatives to mark in 2024 the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's NATO accession and will be used as a tag and hashtag for social media posts.
