Ekaterina Zaharieva Insists on Active Involvement of Women in Afghan Peace Process

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva stated Bulgaria’s support for the efforts to ensure peace in Afghanistan and insisted on the active involvement of women in intra-Afghan political negotiations. She spoke at a meeting with US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad.

The Council of Ministers adopted a National Plan for strengthening its implementation of the Civilian Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) Compact of the EU. The National Plan reflects the commitments made by Bulgaria and the other Member States that are parties to the Compact adopted in November 2018.
