Bulgaria Asks Serbia for Information on Media Reports about Construction of Wall along the Border
Acting on orders of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva, the Bulgarian Diplomatic Service asked the authorities of the Republic of Serbia for an explanation in light of Serbian media reports claiming that the government was planning to build a wall along Serbia’s border with Bulgaria.

EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs call for De-escalation of Tensions in Eastern Mediterranean
The EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs called for de-escalation of tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean during an extraordinary sitting of the Foreign Affairs Council, which was held by video conference. Participants at the meeting expressed full solidarity with Greece and Cyprus, emphasizing the need for restraint by all parties with a view to avoiding further escalation, which could have unpredictable consequences for peace and stability in the entire region.

The Council of Ministers adopted a decision to relieve Japanese national Hisashi Nakayama of his duties as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria in Japan. His seat was in Yokohama. The decision also closes the consulate that had been headed by him.
