Nikola Dimitrov: Borisov was the European leader who provided an impetus to our European integration
‘The Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov gave the initial impetus for all the support we have been receiving for our Euro-Atlantic integration. His was the message: "Europe helped us, now let’s help our neighbors".’ It was with these words that Nikola Dimitrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, addressed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva of Bulgaria. The two met and talked in Bucharest, in the framework of the informal meeting of the EU foreign ministers with their counterparts from the Western Balkans.

Bulgaria OKs Republic of Macedonia’s NATO accession
The Government has approved the draft Protocol to the North Atlantic Treaty on the accession of the Republic of Macedonia to NATO.
By force of the same resolution, the Council of Ministers has authorized the chargé d'affaires ad interim of the Bulgarian Delegation to NATO to sign the protocol of accession.

Bulgaria, Thailand Step Up Bilateral Relations
Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva conferred in Brussels with her Thai counterpart Don Pramudwinai. The first meeting at a level of foreign ministers since 2012 took place on the sidelines of a EU-ASEAN ministerial held in the Belgian capital. Thailand holds the ASEAN chairmanship since January 1, 2019.
