Deputy Minister Georg Georgiev Receives Newly Appointed Ambassadors of Japan, Pakistan
22 July 2020 NewsDeputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev received copies of the letters of accreditation of two newly appointed ambassadors - Hiroshi Narahira, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan, and Madiha Aftab, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan.
Deputy Minister Georgiev received Ambassador Narahira at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the two discussed the excellent relations between Bulgaria and Japan. They noted the three important anniversaries the two countries celebrated in 2019: of the first official contact, the establishment of diplomatic relations and their subsequent restoration after a brief interruption. “This demonstrates how long-lasting the friendship between our two countries is. The potential for cooperation is unlimited,” the Deputy Foreign Minister said.
During their meeting Deputy Minister Georgiev and Ambassador Mariam Madiha Aftab agreed that the traditionally good relations between Bulgaria and Pakistan could become closer yet. The easiest way to do that would be by bringing their people closer together through cultural, educational and tourist exchanges. “Our ministry will not be just a partner and a source of support but also a friend,” Georgiev said. We will be marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Pakistan in 2020.
Deputy Minister Georgiev wished success to the newly appointed ambassadors of Japan and Pakistan in the discharge of their official duties in Bulgaria.
