Bulgaria Bids Goodbye to Successful Year for Human Rights
The National Coordinating Mechanism on Human Rights (NCMHR) held its sixth session at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister Yuri Sterk. In his address to the participants, Deputy Minister Sterk thanked the representatives of the state institutions and the nongovernmental sector in the NCMHR for their excellent cooperation.

Bulgaria Takes over BSEC Chairmanship
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Emilia Kraleva took part in the 39th meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) in Baku. At this forum, Bulgaria took over the Organization’s rotating Chairmanship for the first half of 2019.

The Diplomatic Institute Gave its Annual Awards
For the sixth consecutive year, the Diplomatic Institute gave its annual awards, bestowing one Bulgarian and one foreign citizen or institution that have contributed significantly to the development and reputation of the Institute. Today, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the guests of the ceremony celebrated the Diplomatic Institute’s 15th anniversary by displaying an exhibition of 15 canvases.

Bulgaria to Provide Experts to Assist the Pre-accession Process in Albania and the Republic of Macedonia
‘Bulgaria offered expertise to assist the pre-accession process in Albania and the Republic of Macedonia towards membership of the European Union,’ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva stated in Thessaloniki, where she took part in the fourth quadrilateral ministerial meeting between representatives of Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, and the Republic of Macedonia. Mrs Zaharieva also called on each of the four countries to designate a liaison officer to coordinate the implementation of decisions adopted jointly by the countries.

Bulgaria Voted Member of the Executive Council of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons
At its 23rd Conference, held today, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) unanimously voted the Republic of Bulgaria a member of its Executive Council for the 2019-2021 period. The Executive Council is the highest authority of the OPCW.

Ekaterina Zaharieva: As President of the BSEC, Bulgaria Will Rely on a Project-oriented Business Approach
‘I am glad that starting next year Bulgaria will be taking over the presidency of the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.
