With deep regret we inform you that today, following a serious illness, suddenly passed away one of our youngest colleagues – Milen Lyubenov, head of Department “Regional Cooperation” in Directorate “Southeast Europe”. In just a few weeks he was about to leave on a new diplomatic mission as Deputy Head of the Embassy of Bulgaria in Athens, Greece.

Bulgaria declared another Russian diplomat as persona non grata

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria declared yet another Russian diplomat as persona non grata and asked the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation to fully assist the Bulgarian authorities in investigating the explosions in Bulgarian arms depots, the destruction of material evidence in a fire and the poisoning of three Bulgarian citizens in order to discover the offenders and bring them to court.

The value of the property is BGN 729 330. The accessibility for our fellow countrymen and the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia will be made easier by preserving the address of our Consulate General.

The European Union strongly condemns the illegal activities on the territory of the Czech Republic that caused the explosions at the Vrbětice ammunition depot in 2014. It resulted in the deaths of two Czech citizens, a serious threat to civilian population and immense material damage. The EU takes extremely seriously the conclusions by the Czech authorities, based on extensive investigations, that officers of the Russian military intelligence GRU perpetrated these actions

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared two Russian diplomats persona non grata

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria declared two Russian diplomats accredited in our country persona non grata and gave them 72 hours to leave the country. A formal note was handed to the Deputy Head of the Russian Embassy informing him of the decision.
