UNESCO celebrates its 75th anniversary

Today UNESCO celebrates its 75th anniversary. Bulgaria is proud to belong to the large family of this organization, whose main mission is to promote the global idea of peace through a wide field of cultural, scientific and educational cooperation, where there are no individual winners, and the result benefits all.
We welcome the organization's increasingly active involvement in ethical issues, which we can call the morality of humanity. These are the frameworks within which artificial intelligence must be located; these are scientific achievements accessible and open to all; this is the protection over the cultural monuments - tangible, intangible, written; this is the information that should be free, independent, pluralistic; these are also the great challenges of our time, especially in the field of climate change and biodiversity loss.
The international legal framework established by UNESCO creates a barrier against current and future dangers, protects and opens the world of culture, science and education for all, ensures equal access to human achievements.
Bulgaria, since its accession in 1956, shares and works actively for the realization of the noble goals of UNESCO and becomes a reliable partner for the implementation of the programs and mission of the organization.
For the past 65 years Bulgaria has occupied and defended its worthy and respected place in UNESCO. We are confident that this will be the case in the future.
