Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov participated in the 29th EU-GCC Joint Council and the 2nd High Level Forum on Regional Security and Cooperation, which took place on 5-6 October in Kuwait. The two events, co-chaired by EU HR/VP Kaja Kallas and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Abdullah Ali Al Yahya, are important platforms for dialogue between the member states of EU and GCC on key international issues, as well as for charting the road map for enhancing interaction in a wide scope of spheres such as trade, investment, energy, climate change, connectivity and security.

Within the framework of the Munich Security Conference Leaders Meeting held in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, Minister Georg Georgiev met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Ayman Al-Safadi. The meeting reaffirmed the active political dialogue between the two countries. Minister Georgiev expressed his gratitude to his Jordanian counterpart for the assistance provided by Jordan in the evacuation of two Bulgarian citizens and an elderly Palestinian national from the Gaza Strip on 29 September this year.

The consultations were held at the level of Directors-General for European Affairs and were co-chaired by Mr. Yordan Parvanov from the Bulgarian side and Mr. Christoph Wolfrum from the German side.
