Position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria is monitoring with growing concern the actions of the regime in the Islamic Republic of Iran, including attacks directed against civilian targets on the territory of our partner states in the Persian Gulf. Every effort has been made to convince Islamic Republic of Iran that the international community cannot accept the development of its nuclear programme, as well as its troubling missile production.

In connection with the ongoing military escalation between State of Israel and Islamic Republic of Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria is monitoring the situation on a 24-hour basis. Upon the instruction of Nadezhda Neynsky, a Crisis Task Force has been established. The Ministry is maintaining constant contact with all Bulgarian diplomatic missions in the region, as well as with its partners and allies.

Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov Takes Part in Ministerial Meeting on the Development of Corridor VIII

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Pavlov participated in a ministerial meeting dedicated to the development of the strategic project Pan-European Corridor VIII held today in Tirana. The forum was hosted by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, Elisa Spiropali, and was attended by the foreign ministers of Italy and the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as by the Ambassador of Romania to Albania. Participants in the discussion reached a consensus on the key importance of Corridor VIII in strengthening connectivity.
