New role for the EU in Gaza
“The EU can participate in the normalizing of the situation in Gaza and in the creation of a sustainable economy”, said the Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nickolay Mladenov during the joint press conference with the Deputy Prime-Minister and Foreign Minister of the State of Israel Avigdor Lieberman. Bulgaria's Schengen Entry to Be Priority for Hungarian EU Presidency
Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen Agreement will be one of the priorities for Hungary's EU Presidency, according to Hungarian Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi.

Bulgaria is the first country to send a team of firefighters to the devastated region around Haifa in Israel. Following yesterday's talk between Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, a government aircraft brought a group of 92 firefighters to Haifa, accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitar Tzanchev.
