Increased pace of Bulgarian participation in the 77th session of the UN General Assembly
On September 20 of this year Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Milkov and the delegation led by him took part in the official opening of the General Debate at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The session was opened by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, whose welcome focused on the war in Ukraine, the global energy crisis, nuclear security, climate change and a number of other global and regional issues.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova participated in the regular meeting of the EU General Affairs Council, which took place today in Brussels. The agenda included the preparation of the upcoming European Council meeting on 20 and 21 October 2022, follow-up to the Conference on the Future of Europe, EU-UK relations, the annual Rule of Law Dialogue, the annual legislative programming and the priorities of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Deputy Minister Kostadin Kojabashev held a meeting with Nasiru Ado Bayero, Emir of Bichi and a member of the presidential family of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who is visiting Bulgaria. The working visit is implemented as a continuation of the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Joffrey Onyeama, to the Republic of Bulgaria in May 2022 and strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
