Today, the United States of America and the State of Israel launched full-scale military operations against the regime in Islamic Republic of Iran.
Bulgaria has repeatedly expressed its concern regarding Iran’s nuclear programme, as well as Tehran’s missile programme, the range of which could extend to Europe. We have also on numerous occasions voiced concern about Iran’s destabilising role in the region. It is precisely in this context that we are deeply concerned about the military escalation in the region. Our primary priority is the safety of Bulgarian citizens. In coordination with our partners, we have initiated an exchange of views and information regarding the risks facing European citizens, with particular priority given to citizens of the Republic of Bulgaria.
