Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

In connection with the ongoing military escalation between State of Israel and Islamic Republic of Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria is monitoring the situation on a 24-hour basis. Upon the instruction of Nadezhda Neynsky, a Crisis Task Force has been established. The Ministry is maintaining constant contact with all Bulgarian diplomatic missions in the region, as well as with its partners and allies.
Bulgarian citizens in the region are urged to remain calm and vigilant, to stay in their homes, and to strictly follow the instructions of the local authorities. They are also advised to monitor announcements published on the websites of Bulgarian embassies and of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Bulgarian citizens in State of Israel are strongly urged to strictly follow the instructions of the local authorities in the event of alerts and calls to use shelters in the event of possible retaliatory strikes against the country.
In accordance with instructions issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, staff members of Bulgarian diplomatic missions in the region and their families are observing all necessary safety measures.
