The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria is monitoring with growing concern the actions of the regime in the Islamic Republic of Iran, including attacks directed against civilian targets on the territory of our partner states in the Persian Gulf. Every effort has been made to convince Islamic Republic of Iran that the international community cannot accept the development of its nuclear programme, as well as its troubling missile production.
Instead of demonstrating restraint, Tehran has today expanded the scope of the dangerous military escalation for which it bears responsibility by carrying out strikes against countries in the region. We call on Islamic Republic of Iran to cease these actions and to meet the conditions that would open the possibility for the resumption of dialogue and the achievement of a solution in line with the expectations of the international community and with the democratic aspirations of the Iranian people.
