The Top Diplomats of Bulgaria and Egypt Discuss the Establishment of a Joint Economic Council
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Georg Georgiev, and his counterpart, Mr Badr Abdelatty, held a fruitful meeting during the Bulgarian top diplomat's two-day visit to the African country.
Ministers Georgiev and Abdelatty discussed opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation and deepening the partnership in areas of mutual interest, including energy, the food and beverage industry, innovation, and tourism.

Minister Georgiev Announces the Reopening of the Bulgarian Sunday School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" in Egypt
The Bulgarian Sunday School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" in Egypt has resumed its activities. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Georg Georgiev, during his two-day visit to Cairo.
The news, which follows a lenghty suspension of the school’s operations, was warmly welcomed by members of the Bulgarian community at the Bulgarian Embassy in the capital of the African country.

Minister Georgiev at Business Forum Opening in Cairo: "We Expect an Increasingly Effective Economic Dialogue with Egypt"
The Foreign Minister is on a two-day official visit to the African country.
"Our joint efforts will be further developed and will yield results in an effective economic dialogue between the two countries. Bulgaria plays an active and important role in the European “Solidarity Lanes” Initiative, which ensures safe routes for the export of agricultural products from the Black Sea region to Egypt and other African countries at fair and affordable prices."

Position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On 21 May 2025, the final hearing in the case against one of the most prominent representatives of the Bulgarian community in North Macedonia, Mr Lyupcho Georgievski, was held at the Basic Court in Bitola. A ruling in the case is expected in the coming days.
