Deputy Minister Tasheva Meets with Turkish Ambassador to Bulgaria Mehmet Sait Uyanık

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivanka Tasheva met today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bulgaria, Mehmet Sait Uyanık. The discussions focused on current security challenges, including those in the Black Sea region, as well as the need for closer coordination between the European Union and NATO in addressing them.

The Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union presented its priorities for the next six months. The Presidency’s key priorities include enhancing the European Union’s competitiveness, strengthening security, safeguarding democratic values, supporting Ukraine, advancing the EU’s enlargement policy and preparing the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).

Minister Velislava Petrova Participates in the EU Foreign Affairs Council Meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova participated in the regular meeting of the European Union's Foreign Affairs Council, held today in Brussels. In the course of the negotiations on the 21st sanctions package, the three individuals to whom Bulgaria had raised objections and over whose inclusion it had been prepared to block the package were removed from the sanctions package. The arguments put forward by the Bulgarian Government were accepted by the European Commission and the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
