Deputy Minister Ivanka Tasheva Meets with Newly Appointed Ambassador of Cyprus to Bulgaria

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms Ivanka Tasheva received the copies of the letters of credence of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Petros Dimitriou.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the traditionally friendly atmosphere and the excellent state of relations between Bulgaria and Cyprus, which are based on mutual respect, trust and closely aligned positions on a number of issues on the European and international agenda.
As Member States of the European Union, the two countries share common values and interests and actively support each other within the EU and in other international formats. Readiness was expressed to continue the close political dialogue and further deepen bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
The Deputy Minister wished the Ambassador a successful term of office in Bulgaria and expressed confidence that his work would contribute to further strengthening the close and friendly relations between Bulgaria and Cyprus.
