Minister Nadezhda Neynski discussed EU enlargement with her German counterpart Johann Wadephul

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Nadezhda Neynski, met with the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Johann Wadephul, within the framework of the informal meeting of EU foreign ministers, held today in Ukraine.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the enlargement of the European Union and the necessary institutional reforms. Minister Neynski emphasized Bulgaria’s consistent support for the European perspective of the countries of the Western Balkans, Ukraine, and Moldova, stating that progress should be based on achieved results and compliance with established criteria.
The two ministers emphasized the relations based on a strategic partnership between the two countries and the deepening of cooperation in areas such as the defence industry, infrastructure, energy, innovation, and scientific research. “We highly appreciate Germany’s support in the process of modernization and rearmament of the Bulgarian army, including within the framework of the “European Sky Shield” initiative,” Minister Neynski said.
