Minister Kristian Vigenin sets up Public Council at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
17 June 2013 NewsMore than 15 organizations working in the field of foreign and security policy are to be invited to nominate representatives to the Public Council at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These will include renowned academics and journalists with positions and expertise in this area. The main objective of the Public Council is to create a platform for dialogue with civil society organizations and to enhance transparency in the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. One of the first topics will be reviewing the draft Regulation on the career development of diplomatic staff, which is currently subject to the public consultation provided for by law. The regulation was prepared by a Working Group appointed by order of caretaker Foreign Minister Marin Raykov.
