Minister Kristian Vigenin will participate in ‘Debate on the Future of Europe’

20 June 2013 News

Minister Kristian Vigenin is to participate in a meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states on the topic of the “Debate on the Future of Europe”, to be held on July 19 and 20 in Palma de Mallorca. The invitation to the forum is on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo in co-operation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Guido Westerwelle.

The aim of the conference, organized by the "Future of Europe" think-tank, is a joint discussion on European integration and the strengthening of reforms in the Union to ensure growth and jobs in the EU and to restore public confidence in the common European project.

“In recent years we have so many day-to-day issues to consider, that sometimes we lose sight of the long-term outlook and momentum for change. Such debates are useful because each side has the opportunity to present in an informal setting their perspective on the problems we face,” Minister Vigenin said in conversation today with the Spanish Ambassador Jose Luis Vicente Tapia and German Embssay Charge d’Affaires Reinhard Krapp, who conveyed the invitation to the meeting in Palma de Mallorca.
