Deputy Minister Nikolay Berievski received copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Bulgaria, H.E. Dr. Anwar Agha.
The interlocutors discussed recent developments in the Middle East region, with Ambassador Agha expressing gratitude for Bulgaria's active support for a sustainable resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the two-state solution.
For his part, Deputy Minister Berievski highlighted Bulgaria's long-standing position regarding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on two states and gave assurances that our country would continue to support all international initiatives aimed at achieving lasting and sustainable peace in the Middle East. He expressed Bulgaria’s support for the full implementation of the Comprehensive Plan for ending the war in Gaza, approved by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and welcomed the transition to the second phase of its implementation.
Mutual readiness was expressed to expand bilateral dialogue in spheres of mutual interest, with an emphasis on education.
