The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria has sent an official diplomatic note to the Hellenic Republic in connection with the closure of key road arteries and border crossing points during the protest actions of Greek farmers.
The note emphasises that the prolonged blocking of roads and border crossings has led to serious economic difficulties for Bulgarian transport companies, exporters and citizens, as well as to the disruption of the free movement of persons and goods guaranteed under European Union law.
The Bulgarian side expresses its expectation that the matter will be addressed constructively and in a spirit of good neighbourliness, and that concrete measures will be taken to prevent similar situations in the future.
