12 December 2025 News

The event took place on 12 December 2025, ahead of her assuming her new duties as Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Hungary. Symbolically, the reception was co-hosted by Dimitar Mihaylov, Advisor in the Minister’s Cabinet, Arabist and Bulgaria’s incoming Ambassador to Qatar. The Director General for Bilateral Relations, Todor Stoyanov—soon to head Bulgaria’s Embassy in Spain—was also in attendance.

During the reception, guests were presented with the new Arabic translation of the volume “Religious and Community Togetherness in Bulgaria: Dimensions of Public Expression and Diplomacy with Universal Applicability,” produced as part of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs seminar. The project was made possible with the support of the Bulgarian-Iraqi businessman Eng. Muhannad Al-Nuaimi. The attending ambassadors received copies of the publication, along with additional sets intended for the foreign ministers of the Arab states. Each volume includes a personal message from Minister Georg Georgiev, highlighting the importance of tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and social harmony as essential foundations for the stability and unity of Bulgarian society.

In her remarks, Deputy Minister Angelieva stated:
“I am deeply grateful for your dedicated and unwavering efforts to develop and strengthen dialogue with Bulgaria. The longstanding relations between Bulgaria and the Arab states rest on mutual respect, shared interests, and decades of partnership. I am confident that our constructive cooperation will continue to flourish in a spirit of trust and mutual esteem.”
