Official Presentation of the Candidature of Mira Raycheva-Shekerjieva for Part-Time Judge at the United Nations Dispute Tribunal (UNDT) for the Term 2026–2033

On 15 October 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Nikolay Pavlov, officially presented to the diplomatic corps in Sofia the candidature of Ms Mira Raycheva-Shekerjieva for the position of part-time Judge at the United Nations Dispute Tribunal (UNDT) for the term 2026–2033. The elections for this position will take place on 17 November 2025 during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
In his address, Deputy Minister Pavlov underlined the high professionalism and extensive experience of Judge Raycheva-Shekerjieva, who has served since 2010 as a judge at the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Bulgaria, and has 28 years of experience within the Bulgarian judicial system. He noted that her candidacy is the outcome of a highly competitive selection process, which attracted 391 candidates (181 women) from 79 countries across the five regional groups of the United Nations.
Deputy Minister Pavlov appealed to the heads of missions and representatives of UN Member States’ embassies accredited in Sofia to support the Bulgarian candidature, emphasising that Judge Raycheva-Shekerjieva’s professional qualifications and experience would contribute to the effective functioning of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal, thereby upholding the authority and integrity of the United Nations before its staff and Member States.
The event was attended by representatives of numerous embassies of UN Member States accredited to the Republic of Bulgaria.
