15 October 2025 News

On 15 October 2025, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Nikolay Pavlov, received copies of the letters of credence from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the Republic of Bulgaria (residence in Bucharest), H.E. Ms Shahnaz Gazi.

High appreciation was expressed for the friendly relations between Bulgaria and Bangladesh, which are developing in a spirit of goodwill and with a shared political will to deepen them. The two sides agreed on the need to create favourable conditions to promote exchange in priority areas such as economy, trade, science, education and culture.

Some concrete measures were discussed to inject new dynamism into the relationship and to stimulate mutual acquaintance between the two nations – holding a first round of political consultations, twinning of cities, naming streets after significant public figures. Ambassador Gazi pointed out the presence of a qualified workforce in Bangladesh and the interest on the part of Bangladeshi students in studying at Bulgarian universities.

At the meeting the importance of cooperation between the European Union and Bangladesh was underscored. Satisfaction was also shared at the excellent dialogue within international organisations.
