Bulgaria participated in the 29th EU-GCC Joint Council and the 2nd High Level Forum on Regional Security and Cooperation

Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov participated in the 29th EU-GCC Joint Council and the 2nd High Level Forum on Regional Security and Cooperation, which took place on 5-6 October in Kuwait.
The two events, co-chaired by EU HR/VP Kaja Kallas and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Abdullah Ali Al Yahya, are important platforms for dialogue between the member states of EU and GCC on key international issues, as well as for charting the road map for enhancing interaction in a wide scope of spheres such as trade, investment, energy, climate change, connectivity and security.
Deputy Minister Pavlov reiterated Bulgaria’s commitment to contribute to the joint efforts for reaching the goals of development of the EU-GCC Strategic Partnership as set in the Joint Statement of the First EU-GCC Summit.
In the sidelines of the events Deputy Minister Pavlov held bilateral meetings with Kuwaiti Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah and the Emirati State Minister for Foreign Affairs Khalifa Al-Shaheen Al-Marar. He discussed the state of the relations of Bulgaria with the two partner countries, focusing on the concrete steps for development of the political dialogue and enhancement the sectoral interaction.
