23 September 2025 News

Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev held a meeting with Mongolian Foreign Minister Ms Battsetseg Batmunkh in New York, as part of his participation in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

During the discussions, the two sides reviewed the long-standing partnership between Bulgaria and Mongolia and explored opportunities to further deepen bilateral cooperation in a number of priority fields. “Bulgaria values its relations with Mongolia, built on enduring traditions of friendship and cooperation,” Minister Georgiev emphasised. In addition, our top diplomat noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and Mongolia.

Also positively noted was the signing of several bilateral agreements – an Agreement on International Road Transport of Passengers and Goods, an Air Services Agreement, and a licensing Agreement between “El Bi Bulgaricum” and Mongolian “APU Company” for the production of yoghurt in Mongolia, which underscores the prospects for strengthening economic links.

During the bilateral meeting, key topics on the European and global agenda were also discussed.
