Consultations between Director General for European Affairs Yordan Parvanov and Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council Amer Kapetanović in the context of Sofia’s Chairmanship-in-Office of the South-East European Cooperation Process

On 15 September 2025, consultations were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between the Director General for European Affairs, Yordan Parvanov, and the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Amer Kapetanović. The consultations took place in the context of Bulgaria’s current Chairmanship-in-Office of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP).
The priorities of the Chairmanship and opportunities for deepening cooperation with the RCC were discussed.
The talks highlighted the forthcoming commemoration in 2026 of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the SEECP. Other topics addressed included the development of the Common Regional Market, the “South-East Europe 2030” Strategy, and the Mobility Agreements.
The interlocutors concurred on the importance of regional cooperation for achieving a more integrated, sustainable and connected South-East Europe.
