Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev Holds Telephone Conversation with His German Counterpart

On 15 September, Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev held a telephone conversation with the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, Johann Wadephul, during which both sides expressed high appreciation for the long-standing fruitful friendship and cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally and within the frameworks of the EU and NATO. The commitment of both countries to a stronger, more united and competitive European Union, equipped with the necessary capabilities to respond to contemporary challenges, was reaffirmed.

During the conversation, the two top diplomats discussed the potential for further deepening of bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as the economy and industry, security and defence, as well as for intensifying bilateral political dialogue.

They also exchanged views on current issues on the European and Euro-Atlantic agenda, and on joint efforts between the two countries aimed at strengthening the security and stability of the EU and NATO’s Eastern Flank, including the Black Sea region.
