Dear compatriots,
On 6 September we mark one of the brightest dates in Bulgarian history – the Day of the Unification. This day stands as a symbol of unity, of the will of the Bulgarian people, and of the aspiration for national dignity and independence.
The Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria with Eastern Rumelia in 1885 was the result not only of diplomatic skill, but also of profound national consciousness and self-sacrifice. It demonstrated to the world that when Bulgarians act together in the name of a just cause, they can achieve great goals.
Today, in the face of global challenges and an unstable international environment, the spirit of the Unification is more relevant than ever. Unity and solidarity – both within our own country and with our partners in the European Union and the international community – are the key to peace, security, and prosperity.
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in my own name, I extend my warmest congratulations on this day!
Let us remember the lessons of history and work tirelessly for a united, dignified, and strong future for Bulgaria.
