Position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the planned holding of the so-called ‘Lukov march’

23 February 2024 News

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria is strongly opposed to the planned holding of the so called ‘Lukov March.”

Hatred, discrimination and anti-Semitism have no place in our country. They are incompatible with the values, identity, traditions and interests of the Bulgarian people. Manifestations like the so-called ‘Lukov March’ undeservedly present the Republic of Bulgaria in a negative light.

Welcoming the efforts of the Bulgarian institutions to counter hate speech, discrimination and anti-Semitism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls for all necessary actions to be taken, within the framework of the statutory procedure, to prevent the so-called ‘Lukov March’ in 2024.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to oppose any attempt to incite hatred and division in Bulgarian society and to damage the international image of the Republic of Bulgaria.
