EU should start a political discussion to prevent attacks in the future

18 February 2013 News

Today it is important to start a political discussion in the European Union on what measures should collectively be taken to prevent similar attacks in the future, said Minister Nickolay Mladenov, and added that whether Hezbollah should be added to the list of terrorist organisations would not be discussed at the Council meeting.

“Political discussions will be started on measures that the EU should take as a whole to guarantee the security of its citizens,” Minister Mladenov said before the start of the Foreign Affairs Council where he was to brief his colleagues on the results of the Bulgarian investigation into the terrorist act at Sarafovo Airport in July 2012.

Minister Mladenov will discuss the issue of security in Europe in talks with his counterparts from France and Germany, two countries that he is to visit later this week.
