Minister Teodora Genchovska discussed with her NATO counterparts the Russian military invasion, support for Ukraine and NATO's vulnerable partners

07 April 2022 News

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teodora Genchovska, took part in the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the NATO member states, which took place on April 6 and 7 at the Alliance's Headquarters in Brussels.

On the first day, the Strategic Concept of the Alliance was discussed, which will be adopted at the NATO Summit in Madrid in June 2022.

The second day began with a meeting of the North Atlantic Council, attended by High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, as well as partners Georgia, Sweden, Finland, Australia, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea and Japan. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, who made a clear appeal to increase support for Ukraine. All participants condemned the unprovoked and unjustified Russian military invasion of Ukraine, including in the context of horrendous cruelties in Bucha.

NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs agree on the need to step up aid to Ukraine and support for vulnerable partners, and provide guidance for a new Strategic Concept and adaptation of the Alliance's defense and deterrence capabilities in preparation for the meeting on the top.
