Thessaloniki marked the 3rd of March with Bulgarian National Revival songs performed by the Armeiska Pesen quartet (Army Song) of the National Guards of Honor.

The traditional reception celebrating the Bulgarian National Day was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Mediterranean Palace Hotel. The event, organized by the Bulgarian Consulate General, was attended by the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Yiannis Boutaris, members of the Greek Parliament from the local constituency, diplomats, public figures, captains of industry and members of the non-governmental sector.

The ceremony was opened with a performance of the national anthems of Bulgaria and Greece. Yiannis Boutaris and Consul General Vladimir Pisanchev made welcoming addresses to the guests.

Bulgaria was represented by members of the Bulgarian community in the area, by Bulgarian servicemen in the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps in Greece, Thessaloniki (NRDC-GR) and the South-Eastern Europe Multinational Brigade (SEEBRIG) in Larissa, Bulgarian language tutors, journalists, etc.
